Brew Master Tim Hartigan brews in a style he learned in America... Asheville, NC to be precise. That's a good thing, because Asheville is considered by many to be Beer City, USA. With over 50 craft breweries, there is a beer for every taste.
But the story really begins here. In 2018 Tim was fortunate to move with wife Lori, and their two Dulux Dogs, Winston and Toby, to a small village in Hampshire and set up his tiny hobby brewery.
"At first, I was just testing recipes on myself... getting to know the water, sourcing ingredients, etc. Then I started sharing my creations with new friends and neighbours. The response was universal, 'I would buy this!'"
Bob and Mary, two dear friends, soon joined the fledgling business. With their guidance, and the continued support from the community, plans for new equipment and a slightly larger brewery with tasting room began to take shape. They met a kind local farmer who believed in them and offered a bit of redundant barn space. "Now we are all friends. I could not have done this without their help."
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
"Produce World class beer for the purpose of bringing people together, supporting the community, and promoting a healthy lifestyle, and to champion craft beer through education, exposure and experience".
The new micro brewery and tasting room are still small. In the US it would be classified as a nano-brewery. But it is just the perfect size. Breach Farm Brewing is purposely small-scale, focusing on quality over quantity. And the location? Well that is perfect too. Four local footpaths converge just outside the tasting room onto one of the nicest farms in Hampshire!
